Step 1: Know Your Cooler Model

The most reliable way to find the right cartridge is to know your cooler model. Check the label on the back or base of your unit. If you’re not sure, call us — we can identify the right cartridge from a photo or description.

Step 2: Match the Filter Type

Most Awesome Water Coolers use our 8-stage KDF activated charcoal mineral filter cartridge. This is the most comprehensive option — removing chlorine, heavy metals, sediment, and bacteria while re-mineralising the water. Check your existing cartridge label to confirm the type.

Step 3: Check the Dimensions

Filter cartridges come in different sizes. The standard Awesome Water Filter cartridge fits our benchtop and freestanding bottle-fed coolers. If you have a different brand of cooler, check the cartridge dimensions before ordering.

Step 4: Consider Your Water Quality

In harder water areas (Perth, Adelaide), replace every 6 months — the ceramic and sediment stages clog faster. In softer water areas (Melbourne, Sydney), 12 months is usually fine. If you’re on bore or tank water, consider a more frequent replacement schedule.
