Looking for a quality water cooler in Perth? We deliver freestanding, benchtop, and plumbed-in bottleless water coolers across Perth and the greater WA metro area — each with 8-stage KDF filtration that improves the taste of Perth's hard, chlorinated tap water. Not sure which type suits your space? Start with our complete water coolers guide.

Perth has the hardest and most variable tap water of any Australian capital — a Perth-wide average around 99 mg/L of calcium carbonate, but ranging from about 29 mg/L in the hills to over 200 mg/L in some northern suburbs. Water Corporation supplies Perth from a mix of sources — roughly groundwater (~40–45%), desalinated seawater (~36%), and surface water from Darling Range dams (~19%) — and splits the city into around 28 supply localities, so the water at your tap depends heavily on which suburb you're in.
The hardness comes from the Gnangara Mound groundwater in the north, where water filters through sand, sandstone and limestone for decades, dissolving calcium and magnesium along the way. That's why northern localities like Two Rocks (~228 mg/L), Yanchep (~204 mg/L) and Neerabup (~190 mg/L) are very hard, while southern hills suburbs fed by surface water (Dwellingup ~29 mg/L) and desalination-supplied areas are much softer. Water Corporation adds chlorine to all its supply schemes — often raised slightly in the warmer months — and fluoride at around 0.7–0.9 mg/L.
Perth tap water is safe to drink and meets the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines. The reasons people filter it are the chlorine taste and the high mineral content — especially in the harder northern suburbs, where scale on kettles, taps and appliances is a common complaint.
In Perth, a filtered water cooler mainly improves taste — removing the chlorine flavour and reducing sediment — and gives you instant hot and cold water on demand. Quality activated-carbon filtration removes the chlorine taste and smell that many Perth residents notice (particularly in summer), while sediment stages capture particles. If you're in one of the hard northern suburbs, it's worth knowing that a drinking-water filter improves taste but does not "soften" water — reducing hardness minerals needs reverse osmosis or a dedicated softener — so descaling your cooler periodically still matters in those areas.
For Perth offices and homes, the practical win is cleaner-tasting tea, coffee and drinking water without the chlorine aftertaste, in one convenient hot-and-cold unit.

Our coolers use an 8-stage KDF filter that passes water through sediment, activated carbon, KDF media, ceramic and mineral stages to reduce chlorine taste, sediment and heavy metals while balancing pH. The activated-carbon stages target the chlorine taste and odour; the sediment and ceramic stages capture particles; the KDF media targets heavy metals and inhibits bacterial growth; and the mineral stages give a smoother, slightly alkaline finish. Note that carbon-based filtration is designed to improve taste, odour and clarity — it reduces chlorine and sediment effectively, but it does not soften hard water or remove fluoride.

Our freestanding water coolers are ideal for Perth offices, waiting rooms, and busy households. Instant hot water up to 92°C, chilled water down to 4°C, child-safe hot tap lock, and digital controls as standard.
Short on floor space? Our benchtop water coolers sit neatly on your kitchen bench or office counter. Same hot and cold filtered water in a compact footprint — great for apartments, small offices, and home kitchens.

No bottles, no deliveries, no running out. Our bottleless plumbed-in water coolers connect directly to your mains supply and filter inline — ideal for Perth offices and commercial spaces that need continuous, hassle-free filtered water.
Our bottle-fed coolers work with our 8-stage KDF water filter system — activated carbon, KDF media, ceramic and mineral stages for clean, great-tasting water. Replacement cartridges available in our filter cartridge range. See our Replacement Filter Cartridges Guide for service intervals.
