What Each System Does

Regular filter (e.g. KDF, activated carbon, ceramic): Removes chlorine, heavy metals, sediment, and bacteria. Produces clean, neutral-pH filtered water. Does not change mineral content significantly.

Alkaline filter (e.g. 8-stage KDF with Maifan stones and Prill Beads): Does everything a regular filter does, plus adds beneficial minerals (calcium, magnesium, potassium) and raises pH to approximately 7.5–8.5. Produces clean, mineral-rich, slightly alkaline water.

Which Is Right for You?

Choose a regular filter if: you mainly want chlorine and contaminant removal, you’re on a tight budget, or you’re not interested in alkaline water specifically.

Choose an alkaline filter if: you want the filtration benefits plus better-tasting mineral-rich water, you’re interested in the pH and mineral benefits, or you’re replacing bottled alkaline water with a home system.
