Awesome Water Filter Felt Pads For Plastic Dome x 6

IT000598

trust-badge

Awesome Water Filter Felt Pads are the first-stage replacement pads for Awesome Water benchtop purifiers and water coolers that use a BPA-free plastic dome housing. Each pack contains 6 pads — 3 white sediment pads and 3 black carbon pads — giving you three complete two-pad sets and approximately 18 months of supply at the recommended 6-month replacement interval.

What These Pads Do

In the 8-stage Awesome Water filtration system, the two felt pads sit in the plastic dome at the top of the filter housing and act as the first line of pre-filtration before water reaches the main cartridge media:

  • White pad (Stage 1): Catches rust, sediment, and coarse particles — 5-micron filtration. When the white pad becomes visibly brown or grey, it's time to clean or replace.
  • Black pad (Stage 1 continued): A carbon-impregnated pad that provides an initial reduction of chlorine and organic compounds before water enters the main filter stages below.

Compatibility

These felt pads are designed for Awesome Water benchtop purifiers and bottle-fed water coolers that use a plastic dome top tank. They are not suitable for ceramic dome housings. If your cooler uses a ceramic dome or a different top-tank style, please contact our team to confirm the correct pads for your model before ordering.

Maintenance and Replacement

  • Inspect the white pad every 4–6 weeks — if it's brown or grey with accumulated sediment, rinse or replace it
  • White pads can be rinsed under cold running water and reused several times before full replacement (this extends their life between the 6-month cartridge swap)
  • Replace both pads as a pair at the same time as your 8-stage cartridge replacement — every 6 months
  • Do not attempt to clean the black carbon pad — replace it at each 6-month interval

Installation

  1. Turn off your water cooler and remove the 20L bottle.
  2. Remove the plastic dome top-tank lid.
  3. Lift out the old white and black pads from the dome housing.
  4. Place the new black pad in first (carbon side down), then the white sediment pad on top.
  5. Replace the dome lid, refit the bottle, and resume normal use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I clean and reuse the felt pads?

The white sediment pad can be rinsed under cold running water and reused several times before it needs replacing — rinse it whenever it looks heavily soiled. The black carbon pad should be replaced rather than rinsed, as washing reduces its effectiveness. At the 6-month cartridge replacement, swap both pads out as a full set.

Do I need to replace these at the same time as my filter cartridge?

Yes — replace both pads at the same time as your 8-stage filter cartridge every 6 months. The felt pads work as part of the same filtration system and should be kept fresh together.

Will these fit my cooler?

These pads are designed for Awesome Water plastic dome top-tank housings. If your cooler uses a ceramic dome (a different material and style), please contact our team before ordering — different pads apply. If you're unsure which dome type your cooler has, the plastic dome is typically clear or lightly coloured plastic, while the ceramic dome is a white solid ceramic material.

How do I know when to replace the pads?

The white pad acts as a visual indicator — when it turns brown or grey with trapped sediment, it's doing its job. Rinse it when it looks dirty. Replace at 6 months or sooner if rinsing no longer restores adequate flow rate.
