The Golden Rule: Replace on Schedule, Not on Symptoms

Most filter media exhausts gradually with no visible or taste-based warning. By the time you notice a change in taste or smell, the cartridge has been underperforming for weeks. Set a calendar reminder when you install a new cartridge and replace on schedule regardless of how the water tastes.

Maintenance by Filter Type

Cleaning the Reservoir (Benchtop and Cooler Systems)

Clean the reservoir every 3–6 months with a mild food-safe sanitiser. Rinse thoroughly before refilling. This prevents biofilm buildup in the lower chamber.

Checking for Leaks (Under-Sink and Whole House)
